Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

 Hello everyone!

There has been a lot of hype lately about "strobing", and it's basically extreme highlighting without any contouring. The effect is suppose to make one look super glowy and youthful. I think Jaclyn Hill (a popular youtuber) and her collaboration with Becca could not have come out at a better time. With everyone trying to achieve this look, I'm sure that contributed to their highlighter, Champagne Pop, being sold out online within hours of release. I made sure to have the email notification on for this particular product, and combined with double the ebates, I was suckered into purchasing this! This is my first becca shimmering skin perfector, because they cost a whopping $46 CAD. Another push for this purchase was made by the fact that a friend had told me she had seen the highlighters in store going for $51 CAD.

Along with the becca highlighter, I also ordered two of Kat Von D's new Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Mother and Exorcism. I was extremely excited for these products to hit my doorstep, and they came in yesterday!

I pretty much tore into the package to take out my treasures!

A better look at the Limited Edition Jaclyn Hill packaging.

Click on the photo if you're curious about the little blurb on the back written by Jaclyn.

With a purchase of $35+ CAD I was able to snag this mini version of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Opal. It's a decent size for being free!
I was pretty bummed to find out the actual packaging for Champagne pop was just like the regular ones.

Close up of both of them.

The beautiful smooth surface of the Becca Poured Opal

Champagne Pop in the pan facing the window.
The reflectivity is almost blinding! I'm in love.

This is the true color of the base of the highlighter.
I would say it's more of a golden champagne glow.

I thought I would provide a comparison photo with other highlighters that I own.

L-R Top: Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow, The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, 3 Concept Eyes Bling Peach
L-R Bottom: Becca Poured Opal, Guerlain Cruel Gardenia, and Becca Champagne Pop

View from the top!

I also ordered Mary Lou Manizer on Amazon Prime and it arrived today!
I didn't have this in my collection, and I had always meant to buy it. (It's also particularly hard to find in the city)

Becca Poured Opal is the darkest of the bunch, and also the most pigmented. I would say it leans more pink than Champagne pop.
Much like Opal, the Charlotte Tilbury (highlight side only) also learns more to the rose gold side. It's darker than Champagne pop.
Mary Lou Manizer is more golden and much brighter.
3CE is much more silvery.
Guerlain is a pink highlighter, and shows up very differently compared to champagne pop.

Although it's difficult to tell a difference once it's on my cheeks, I'm still happy with my becca purchase, and I highly recommend it if you can still find it! The texture is incredibly smooth, so you don't need a lot for a big punch of highlight.

I have included a mini demo of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop!

Make up done without any blush/highlighter.

My forehead has definitely gotten a lot more tanned recently.

For some color, I'm wearing MAC Bad Girl Gone Good  Blush (RiRi loves Mac collection)

No highlighter

BAM! Haha! I was genuinely impressed.

Highlight on fleek!

I had applied Champagne Pop with my Chikuhodo Highlight Brush

Next up, I wanted to swatch the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks for you all.

Top - Bottom: Lolita, Mother, Exorcism

I paired them with these lip pencils

Overall, I was unimpressed with the two new shades of liquid lipsticks I picked up. They will unfortunately be going back to the store. Besides being incredible drying, exorcism was super patchy. I tried it 3 times will different techniques, and I had the same result. Pity, since it's such a beautiful color. Mother was not what I had expected. It's showing more purple in my photos, but it's actually a true pink. The Sephora description said it  was a dusty rose. I think not!

I hope that this post has been helpful for some of you guys! I had a lot of fun making it.

Thanks for reading,

xLissa
