New Lipstick Swatches and Face

WARNING - PICTURE HEAVY
(*cough* - pictures of myself, that is)

Two posts in one weekend? That's unheard of! If you haven't checked out my haul post from yesterday, click here.

I was originally going to combine the two, but after seeing how many images I would need to include I decided to separate them. I'm sure most people don't really want to see my naked face anyway.

This post is to feature two amazing things in my life - The Covergirl foundation, and lipsticks. Haha
An update on my real life though - It's safe to tell you all that... I'm currently upgrading my high school marks at NAIT. I should have done it sooner. A lot of people I know are calling me crazy, but I sincerely think this was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I have a handful of people to thank for giving me direction during those times I was lost (ie. 3 blog posts back). I know that I'm capable of being competitive (phew, I thought I lacked that gene), and I'm hoping to ace the interviews for the different tech programs come April! Wish me luck, hehe!

ONWARDS...

The Make Ups Used

L-R, T-B: Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in 942 Medium Beige
Benefit The Porefessional
Urban Decay Naked 1 Eyeshadow Palette
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Shu Uemura No. 9 Hard Formula Eyebrow pencil in Seal Brown
Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc'er in Blacquer
Shu Uemura S eyelash curler (Excellent for blending falsies with natural lashes)
Dolce & Gabbana The Blush Luminous Cheek Color in 22 Tan
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 84 Accent

I won't go into too much detail in my pictures, but since one of my good friends (Jilly) asked me how to contour, I thought I would just simply show the effect it has. (P.S. Excuse the hair, I was trying out a new hair product from the Loreal Elnett line and I put in too much.)

First, I'm going to start off with a naked face picture. It's hard for me to go out sans make up now. My hormones have been acting up more than usual, and so I would get severe breakouts every once in a while. Since I'm no longer a teenager, the scarring is taking a long time to dissipate. It goes for months on end.

As I said previously, one of the main purposes of this post was to show you the amazingness of the Covergirl Stay Fabulous foundation. This is the fourth and best drugstore foundation I have ever used in my life. The formula has SPF 20 (which is quite high for a foundation), and so it looks too pale in photos. If you're new to make up, a physical sun protection factor (SPF) creates a layer over your skin to filter out the sunlight. This is undesirable in flash photography, because it creates the floating head syndrome, so I don't recommend using this foundation on nights out. haha

The comparison is crazy! It covers all redness and scarring to give an illusion of perfect skin.
GO AND GET THIS FOUNDATION if you're combo/oily like I am!

I didn't take a process picture, but I just went ahead and did all of my eye make up and added Princess Lee eyelashes.
w/o cheek color.

w/ contour powder under cheekbones by making this face:
LOL

w/ blush added to apples of cheeks

Aiight aiight, so for the second portion of this post is to show you all the lip colors I picked up over the holiday.

The Line Up (L-R)

Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in Beige 102
Buxom Full-On lip cream in White Russian
Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava
Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in Plum 602
Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in Art Deco 502
Make Up Forever Aqua Lip lipliner in 19C Pomegranate Pink
Tom Ford Lip Color in Black Orchid
Guerlain Le Stylo Levres in Noir Iris
Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick mini in Icon
NYX slim lip pencil in Hot Red

First, we have Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in Beige 102

The perfect gloss to put on top was my Buxom Full-On lip cream in White Russian

In my previous post, I mentioned that this Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Cava made me look corpse like. It's the greige undertones in it. I'm still unsure of the color.

My favorite everyday color of the bunch is my Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in Plum 602.

After lining with Make Up Forever Aqua Lip lipliner in 19C Pomegranate Pink (which I purchased specifically for this lip color), I used my Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in Art Deco 502.

I didn't mention this next lip color in my last post, but I finally broke down and used my Tom Ford Lip Color in Black Orchid this Christmas (Thanks again, Felicia!!). It's so gorgeous that if I find it again, I'm buying multiple backups of it. I first lined my lips with Guerlain Le Stylo Levres in Noir Iris.
This is just the first layer - a beautiful stain.

After building it up, it turns into this gorgeous black cherry color. I prefer to use it this way.

In the next set of pictures, I have on the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick mini in Icon. I saved it for last, because it's the most difficult to remove. lol. I lined my lips with my tried and true NYX slim lip pencil in Hot Red.

MEEP. That was a long post. I'm kinda sick of looking at my face right now.

I hope this was remotely helpful for some of you! If you have any questions about what I know about make up, I'll gladly tell.

Hopefully, I don't run out of material to post about, or we'll be waiting months on end again. (*Hint Hint* please make requests!)

Until next time,
