Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

 Hello everyone!

There has been a lot of hype lately about "strobing", and it's basically extreme highlighting without any contouring. The effect is suppose to make one look super glowy and youthful. I think Jaclyn Hill (a popular youtuber) and her collaboration with Becca could not have come out at a better time. With everyone trying to achieve this look, I'm sure that contributed to their highlighter, Champagne Pop, being sold out online within hours of release. I made sure to have the email notification on for this particular product, and combined with double the ebates, I was suckered into purchasing this! This is my first becca shimmering skin perfector, because they cost a whopping $46 CAD. Another push for this purchase was made by the fact that a friend had told me she had seen the highlighters in store going for $51 CAD.

Along with the becca highlighter, I also ordered two of Kat Von D's new Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Mother and Exorcism. I was extremely excited for these products to hit my doorstep, and they came in yesterday!

I pretty much tore into the package to take out my treasures!

Previous Haul From Once Upon A time

[Edited July 22nd, 2015: I didn't realize that I had not published this yet. It was in the drafts folder]

Hey all,

This is my sad attempt to post a little more regularly for the year of 2015! I took these photos quite some time ago, and I haven't had the chance to blog about them.

After being in school for the past 7 months, I've been in another make up rut. I don't want to experiment with anything, and quite frankly, I don't have time for it in the mornings. Sleep is more important than make up these days. I've actually gone to class with nothing on my face.

I'm here to share with you today, a haul I did in February! As I said, I hadn't been wearing much makeup, and so I was looking for things to inspire me again. I made an order through beautylish.com and makeupgeek. I also had the chance to go to sephora after i saw that YSL came out with a Chinese New Year set. Keep on reading if you want to see what I acquired this time around!

Belated IMATS Haul

Hello Friends!

I haven't been motivated enough to keep up with my blog posts. I genuinely hope that all of you are enjoying the new year of 2015. I started my second semester here, at NAIT, and it's just as stressful as it was in September. I'm not sure how to go about keeping up with everything. I suppose reading my textbooks during this break will help. ;P

I don't have any new photos to put up of my face, but I do have a very belated IMATS/Vancouver haul I can share. I have also made a mini order on makeup geek and beautylish. Hopefully those will come in the next two weeks, and I'll be able to share them with you.

IMATS was held on August 9 - 10th, 2014. I attended it with my cousin, Felicia. We had a blast walking around Vancouver and sampling all of the awesome (and cheap!) restaurants in the area we stayed in. The overall convention was underwhelming to say the least... we wished that larger vendors, such as NYX, MAC, and all of the other fun ones came to Vancouver. Alas, we did get our Hakuhodo brushes that we had lusted over previously. I hope you enjoy the small sampling of photos I have of my cosmetics!

New Lipstick Swatches and Face

WARNING - PICTURE HEAVY
(*cough* - pictures of myself, that is)

Two posts in one weekend? That's unheard of! If you haven't checked out my haul post from yesterday, click here.

I was originally going to combine the two, but after seeing how many images I would need to include I decided to separate them. I'm sure most people don't really want to see my naked face anyway.

This post is to feature two amazing things in my life - The Covergirl foundation, and lipsticks. Haha
An update on my real life though - It's safe to tell you all that... I'm currently upgrading my high school marks at NAIT. I should have done it sooner. A lot of people I know are calling me crazy, but I sincerely think this was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I have a handful of people to thank for giving me direction during those times I was lost (ie. 3 blog posts back). I know that I'm capable of being competitive (phew, I thought I lacked that gene), and I'm hoping to ace the interviews for the different tech programs come April! Wish me luck, hehe!

ONWARDS...

Holiday Haulin' 2013 and Mini Reviews

HELLO, my readers!

Happy January! It's been a good few months since I did my last post on here. I have been exclusively focusing on school this year, and so I haven't had the chance to turn on my computer for a long time.

If you're interested in the cosmetics I picked up over the Christmas Break, keep reading!

Birthday Cosmetics Haul!

I really don't know if I could ever post anything other than hauls on my blog.  They're just so addicting. I love looking at what other people buy, and showing people what I bought.

I also haven't posted any selfies of myself recently, so I thought I should (Haha, yeah, right). My skin has gone from horrible to worse though. Where are the days that I had perfect skin? Long gone as it seems. Ah well...

Since blackout season is soon approaching, I guess stores are trying to make up for their sales for the rest of the year. Kiehl's had their first ever friends and family sale open to anyone that walked into the store. The Rihanna hearts Mac collection came out for fall, and Shopper's was having their employee discount and 20x the points at the same time! Talk about sales.

Anyways, here's a nice picture of my little haul from the past couple of weeks:

Haul and Mini Reviews #1

HELLO everyone!!

WOWOWOW. I cannot believe it's already summer. I seriously would LOVE to know where the time goes, because it seems like it's moving at light speed in comparison to my sloth-like ways.

UPDATES on my life? WELL...
Yesterday, I went for a nice long walk on the north side with my girl, Jlieu. I loved it. The weather was perfect. Hot, but not too hot. I can't wait for more walks during the summer.

I am officially graduating on June 5th from my Arts degree. What am I doing next, you ask? WELL, probably going back to school. I'm not mature enough to go out into the real world yet. My mom's okay with me living at home until I'm 40. Don't worry, I asked. :D (My mom is so awesome)

UPCOMING EVENTS?

I'll be going to Asia in July! We hope to be hitting Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
I also have an interview with RBC in June. FINGERS CROSSED. I'd like to have a larger income than I currently do.

That's pretty much up to par with what I've been up to recently, besides the fact that I was in Vancouver two weeks ago! Oh man, I wish I was rich enough to be living there. It's so beautiful. Alas, I am stuck in Edmonton. I am also quite envious of my friend, Jess H, for being able to leave everything and create a new adventurous life in Vancouver.

BUT THAT is not the point of this post. The reason for my update is because I did *some* make up shopping whilst away on vacation. :) It was great. I wish I could have stayed longer.

THE new addition to my make up drawers... hehe

YSL Rouge Volupte and Wet n WIld Lipstick Swatches

Why, hello everyone!

I know, it's weird to be putting swatches of lipsticks that are in COMPLETELY different price categories.

I've just been on a recent lipstick binge, and I'm completely obsessed with lip color these days. It could be the fact that I've forgotten how to use eye shadows, but to liven up my face, it's easier to just swipe on a tube of color on my lips.

I have a few pictures of what my humble collection looks like on me.
I've taken a few picture of my YSL collection in my last post if you'd like to see it.

This is going to be fairly picture heavy as well, just so that you're forewarned.

I had some time last night, after some plans got cancelled. I have previously tried to do the same type of swatches in December, but they didn't turn out well - I've add the ones that I thought were a pretty good depiction of what the lipsticks look like on me anyways!

Pre-Christmas Haul! (Pic Heavy)

I'm so sorry that this is late, but better late than never... right?

Haha! I have neglected this blog for a while, and decided to change the name of it!

Lol I'm not completely satisfied with the name, so if you have any suggestions, I am completely open!

I took these pictures a while back, so I thought I should post them since I put the effort in taking them.

PLEASE NOTE, these pics were taken during finals in December.

The overall haul

February 2013

Whew! Where has the time gone??
Its been almost exactly 5 months since my last post. I can't say that I'm sorry though. I've just been too caught up with school and life.

I forgot to put up my yearly Christmas haul as well! That makes me kind of sad.
I'll put up my haul from Christmas once I get the time. I still have yet to edit the pictures and fix up my draft. It's difficult to blog when you don't have a template that you like.

I felt like blogging today, since I'm feeling a bit down. I want to make this post a boring and selfish one at most. I need somewhere for my thoughts, I suppose. Bear with me, please. There won't be any pictures, and I'll probably delete this post within a few days.

What's been on my mind lately?

The big question... is... am I going to graduate within the next 4 months?

Lets start off with some background info. I started university in 2008, right after I graduated from high school. I didn't know what I was doing or what I was doing it for. It was just natural to keep going to school. The courses I enrolled into were mostly sciences and general prerequisites. They were all extensions - higher level - courses of what I was used to in high school. Biology, math, stats, english - you name it.

At the time, I didn't think that I would need to do anything differently. Given that I was only an average student in high school, I didn't do well in my first year. I joined the U of A cheer team, and assistant coached my high school swim team. I don't regret doing those latter things, because I got to create some amazing memories and meet some amazing people.

What I regret now is... not knowing what I wanted back then. I'm not sure if many people knew, but I wish I did. I know it's not something you can force, but it would have made everything that much easier. All I knew from what my relatives told me was try to get into Pharmacy. HAHA.

I failed miserably in my first year, it took my second year and some to recover. In that time, I took my beloved art classes, as well as a couple biology courses to boost my pathetic GPA.

I told my brother that I really liked my art and design courses, and he told me to try for Industrial Design, since a few of his friends have done that degree and were highly satisfied with it. So, there I go again - just blindly following a suggestion after doing a little bit of research. After 2 years now... I still haven't been accepted into the program.

Now I'm left with an Art and Design major with a bajillion left over credits that count for nothing. I was forced to pick a minor within a few days, and SO my minor is biological sciences, and I love it.

I like the idea of being different.

As you can imagine though, it is somewhat difficult to jump back and forth between art classes and science classes. They're so fundamentally different in their structure - Lecture, homework, and labs wise. I failed an art history course in 3rd year. Not my greatest moment, but I suppose it happens.

As I'm coming to an end of my 5 year journey at the University... I feel as if I'm still lost and dazed as to what meaning I have in this world. I still have to go out there and find a job. My decisions lie on whether or not I will go back to school and try to get into architecture, because that's "better paying". Again, it's something I've been told.
The dilemma I'm facing is whether or not I will "give up" wanting to work in a field of art and design. Maybe I'll go to nait and do some 2 year diploma and go to work after that. The thing is, time is ticking for me.

I'll turn 23 in September.

To think though - someone else who has graduated a year before I have will already have had a year with a career. It's quite unnerving. I want to be there in life as well.

During a conversation with a friend about our careers, the idea of creating a family came up. The questions were - When are you thinking of settling down? Do you want kids? If so, at what age? As to which, I answered... Whenever I have my career, and I'm happy with it. I'm hoping by the time of my early 30s - If I've met the right person. I don't want to get my hopes up and be let down later.
You can probably guess what type of character I am from that answer - Indecisive, a follower, not really a leader of sorts.

Regarding parenthood, my own parents never pushed me to do anything or be anything. Whatever I wanted was good enough. Now that I'm old enough to go out on my own, they're worried about my ability to support myself in the future.

Is that a cause of bad parenting? Or my inability to take charge of my life?

I'm not sure. It's probably due to the way my parents raised me. My dad keeps asking my mom when I was going to graduate. He still thinks quite traditionally, that that's why he never pushed me to be more than what I am. He thinks that I should be married and moved out very soon. He told me that making around $40,000/year was good enough. I don't want to be "good enough". I want my own life with my own career.

As  I get older though, I see how most of my actions and which path I've taken are quite selfish. I never took my parents into consideration as I went along with life. Heck, I didn't even think about my own consequences.

Now, I'm the person who's never done __(insert illegal substance here)__, but I think I've done much worse with being wishy washy.

I don't really know how to proceed in life... or what my next step should be. If I keep living the way I do... where will I be? Why is it taking me so long to find out? What's holding me back? Is the future recession going to make it more difficult to reach my goals ? What ARE my goals? I guess I should figure that out first.

I've spent about an hour rambling. I feel bad if you've finished reading up to here. Haha! But if you have read all the way down here, I appreciate it...

Until next time, I suppose.

Goodies from Hong Kong!

I JUST posted a haul a couple days ago, but I didn't know my coworker and friend, Fion, was going to give me the stuff I asked her to help me buy in Hong Kong so soon! Just think of this as an extension to my last post. lol !

The overall haul! These pics were taken from my phone, because I really should be studying. LOL!

School Has Commenced!

Ey ey ey,

Hey ya'll. I've been gone for MONTHS. Lol, I just got really lazy with up keeping this blog.
I've worked all summer, took spring and summer classes as well. I'm determined to graduate by the end of this year!

I'm so sick of school, yet I'm not all that ready for real life yet. We'll see where life takes me by the end of it. It's kind of exciting not knowing what's going to happen next.

Anyways, I went to Chicago for 12 days before classes started up again, so I thought I should do a mini haul post. I'm kind of broke now. Funny thing is... I kept buying things even after I came back home. :( It's so addicting. Anyways, this is a picture of the things I bought in Chicago! This was from the day after I came back.

I got Neutrogena cleansing wipes, China glaze polishes, an OPI, ardell lash glue, lashes, butter london polishes, dry shampoo, lipbalm, and self tanner!

Haul Withdrawl

:( I buy too many unnecessary things. I have a midterm on Tuesday, and I don't know why I can't bring myself to crack open this damn book! I wish it was warm and sunny outside...

I have a lot of pictures that I should show here... I take them for the blog, but I never blog anymore. : (

Anyways, since it's spring, there were a lot of make up schools that I was able to go to, so I might as well show you everything I've accumulated in the past couple of weeks. :)

Starting off with... my skin! LOL It's so clear in this picture,
I'm not wearing any make up what so ever.

This is an old picture I took... but I like my hair. It's so pink!
Right now, it's gradient-ed with purple and blue

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HARROW CHILDREN,

:) Im in a random mood today.. or right now at least, and I can't think of a good business plan thing for class tomorrow.. so I'm going to sit here and blog, because my last blog post was in November - 2 months ago.
Whoops. I'm sorry.

My cousin pointed it out to me during xmas that she misses my posts, and that my last few were very underwhelming. Well, that's how I interpreted what she said anyways, because I can relate. I hate it when my favorite bloggers haven't updated in a while. Not saying that I'm your favorite blogger, but you know what I'm getting at! haha! Honestly, I was going to go back to my previous posts and write a little about the things I bought, but I got lazy, and really busy with school.

How's school? WELL, I kind of suck... I know my faults, but fixing them is a whole other story. I'm too stubborn to get help from anyone. That's my nature. I dislike when people ask me to help them, because I like helping people, but I don't realize how much of my own time I take to do it. Does that make sense? Sometimes I feel like I'm ranting too much, and I don't get to the point. Anyways, this paragraph is referring to the table I never finished making in my furniture class. I hope to get it done before April. That would be my new year's resolution, I think. Get shit things done.

Darned. I didn't understand when people told me that I would miss high school. I was like, yeah right, high school was stupid and I hated it... but really... I miss the freedom and the naivety. Taking the bus to ikea from the northside was an adventure. Now, we either get someone to drive, or choose not to go because we (I) don't have 2 hours to waste sitting around on a bus full of "scary" people. Maybe I've become a wuss.

Oh look, it's 2am. My usual posting time. Does anyone else have this problem? When the most productive time of day is always after midnight? I can't focus properly any other time of the day. :( I'm always happy to know that a few of my good friends are still using MSN. it's a nice way to communicate when you're not on facebook 24/7. -.- Shout out to Walter in Brazil, and Marinco in the Netherlands, and of course the regulars. :P

I should make a character list of all my friends. LOL OMG, that would be funny!!

TODAY... I hung out with Teresa... IN THE MATH LOUNGE. hahahaha. Her friends are soooooo random/funny. Typical guys that are super smart, but always can relate everything to sex. Uguh. We have a wonderful conversation about cookie nipples. ROFL. Okay. TMI, I know.

I'm secretly trying to find pictures I can insert into this post to make it interesting... If you want to see pictures of random things... follow my instagram. I like posting random stuff.

Hmmm... what's new... OH, most of you know, but I cut myself in December with a utility/xacto knife. I had to get 7 stitches. It's healing now. it's starting to even out. :) my hand looks gross though. I wonder what customers think when I'm using that hand to put makeup on them. Hmm... no comments yet.

That brings me to the video my friend posted on my wall the other day, called "Fotoshop by Adobé" If you haven't watched it yet, I urge you to. It makes me laugh. WHAT are your views of
using photoshop to correct one's imperfections? Do you think it creates an irrational view of idealized beauty? I personally think it is relative to the viewer's knowledge, experiences, and wants. A beauty blogger who regularly uses photoshop to enhance her features is xiaxue. If you hadn't known this before, would you have thought she was beautiful?

OKAY, enough words for today...

I was going to do a blog post in October on the makeup look I did on one of my recent facebook pictures... but I didnt... that leaves me with lots of random self portraits where I'm wearing too much make up. :)

I really wanted to use pink eyeshadow, so I came up with this look.

False eyelashes make a HUGE difference. Look at my poor asian skimpy lashes. haha

Circle lenses. 0__0

andddd what it looks like without flash. YEP.

Im sorry I couldn't add anything more interesting to look at rather than my face... I have more pictures but I can't find my memory card reader. :/ I'm thinking that I should get a laptop soon, because then it would have a built in memory card reader. Well, it's not just for that. I've survived almost a whole year without a laptop. I remember crying when I dropped my pink one in the Industrial design building and shattered the screen. :/ oh well. shit happens. Damn. Hutchinson can talk really fast. haha

OKAY, I'm going to bed. Night!

Break from Studying

Haha, as my title says, I thought I should take a break from studying... all these Linga pictures are making me dizzy. Don't google it. :P

I'm studying for my art history midterm this tuesday. I'm scared, because I want to do well! I'm currently just taking a break to refresh my brain. I worked until midnight the past two days, and I woke up at noon today... and went to Northgate! haha I was going to go to Castledowns Library, but I went into Starbucks to see if my friend was working. AND SHE WAS. lol We're in the same art history class, so she bribed me to stay and study with her. It was an.. okay day. LOL not as productive as I imagined it to be, but fun none the less.

I thought I should show you yet, another haul I did... yes... my wants are pretty much insatiable.

First thing's first... I got St. Tropez Mousse Self tanner

It's HUGE, but it's a nice product. Very natural, and I wouldn't mind using it every few days. Minimal streaking, and the scent is bearable.

These are the other things that I got! :D
Naruko Oil Out Cleanser, serum and night cream,
a teasing comb,
Nose packs, and a facial sponge!

August/Sept Haul

WOWOWOW, I've been away for too long, and I promised too many of you PICTURES. I should be doing research right now, but I'm taking a break. A pregnant break, but by all means, much needed. LOL

This is the first time I'm using the new blog interface for blogspot. It's interesting... but teeny tiny on my 24" wide screen monitor.

I've been really lazy with this blog. School started up, and now Im trying to be as caught up as possible. I hope to be ahead sometime soon. My sketching skills haven't been the best though. :( I drew a tank on Ran Yu's paper for an assignment. She was like, "Wtf?" But that's okay, cuz she doesn't know it was me. :)

So people were asking me to put a picture up of a recent haul I did at work (Shoppers drug mart) ... Most of it was my brother's stuff.. like shiseido for me, and the clinique for men, and the cologne. haha

I bought two of the flake aways because they went from $9.99 to $18.99!
WTF? I had to stock up while they were still $10. :(

WHEE!!!

It's hard to believe my two friends are GONE! :O
That week was so crzy. I think I saw both of them more than I saw them during the school year! HAHA
Fun times.

It's getting super cold again, here, in Edmonton. I don't understand. We barely even had a summer...
You can feel the fall air in the morning. "Winter's coming." HAHA Jk. That was lame. I can't wait until Game of Thrones' next season comes out! It's so... GOOD. :D

Here's a little Lancome haul I got yesterday!!!

Doll Lashes in So Black!
Visionnaire Face Serum
and Star Bronzer in 01 Lumier

Im SO EXCITED TO TRY ALL THESE PRODUCTS! Visionnaire is supposedly legendary... I can't wait to start using it for my acne scars! haha

Anyways, short post for today. :)

Makeup Bag Update By Murale

Sometimes I wish that there was a blog that combined blogger and tumblr... Actually.. tumblr just confuses the hello outta me. /simpleminded.

Anyways, I thought this post that Murale has on their webpage is EXTREMELY useful... Thus I shall copy and paste the page.

Who can’t relate to holding onto their favourite beauty products just a little too long? We get it, but here’s the thing: this is a health issue (besides not looking stellar, expired makeup can cause infections). We’re offering a list of best-before-dates for some common beauty finds so you’ll stay safe. And, if we also give you an excuse to go shopping, we’re good with that.

Foundation and Concealer
Expiry date: Six months for liquids and two years for powders.
Signs it’s time to go: Liquids will start to have a streaky, uneven finish, and powders will become harder to blend and may start to crumble or crack.
Remember: Minimize bacteria growth by washing your hands before applying and avoid repeated use of a single sponge.
Replacement: Murad’s new Hybrid line combines great coverage with anti-aging benefits.
